The Team
Joana Tsuhlares
Co-Founding Artistic Director
Joana Tsuhlares (She/Her) is a NYC based actor/director originally from Short Creek, West Virginia. She has her BFA in Acting from Shenandoah Conservatory, where she studied under LAByrinth Theater's Scott Hudson, Martha Wollner, and Padraic Lillis. Joana’s work includes much classical work such as roles like Hamlet (Hamlet), Jacques (As You Like It) and directing Ajax with Hypnos Theater which she Co-Founded. Additional credits include starring in and producing the new play Rift at The Tank NYC and Assistant Directing Richard II under Dir. Zack Elkind at Urban Stages.
Richard Colley
Co-Founding Artistic Director
Richard Colley (He/Him) is a New York based Actor and graduate of Shenandoah University’s BFA Acting program. Richard has extensive experience acting and teaching. he is a co-founder of Liminality Theatre and currently serves as the Co-Artistic Director. He has worked with Nashville Shakespeare festival (Sir Andrew, Twelfth Night) and Netflix/JLA (actor, fighter, Money Heist experience.) Some other credits include Peter (Peter and the Starcatcher) Macduff/Fight Captain (Macbeth) Planchet/u.s. D’artagnan (Three Musketeers) and Jasper (The Aliens)

Erin Carroll
Co-Founding Executive Director
Erin Carroll (She/Her) is a producer, manager, and theatre-maker originally hailing from the DMV but now living in New York. In Virginia, she produced an all female and non-binary production of Sophocles’s Ajax, as well as LIPSYNC For Your Life, a drag performance fundraiser that benefited the Ira Lindberg Harris Scholarship Fund. Erin has worked in education and community outreach with Washington Performing Arts, and has worked as a Teaching Artist in middle schools throughout the DMV.
Adam Payne
Creative Coordinator
Adam Payne (he/him) is a theatre and media professional based in West Virginia. He is the editor in chief and co-founder of YNST (You’re Not Seeing Things) Magazine, a media outlet dedicated to amplifying the unseen creative voices and stories of Appalachia’s arts and culture. Uniting this passion together, Adam has an MS in Digital Marketing Communications, a BFA in Acting and a BS in Journalism from West Virginia University. He continues to produce work that offers visibility to creatives and inspires change.
Fatima Barrie
Assistant Producer
Fatima (She/Her) is a recent graduate from Shenandoah Conservatory’s BFA Acting program. Her passion for classic text led her to joining Shut Up! It’s Shakespeare during her time at school. She was a 2022 apprentice at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in Boston, and she now serves on their alumni committee as events director. She can be found organizing fun Shakespeare-themed events throughout the year, like staged readings and book drives.
